Posted by Unknown on Thursday, August 11, 2011

Wireless networks have a unique name called the SSID, most routers broadcast this thus allowing crackers to access your network. This article will show you how to hide this :
  1. Access your routers control panel. Read the manual if unsure.
  2. Select 'Home Network' or similar option.
  3. Select 'WLAN' or similar option and click on 'configure' or similar.
  4. Untick 'broadcast network name' or similar.
  5. Click on 'Apply' or similar.
  6. Close browser or tab with control panel.

WARNING

Never do this without making a note of your Networks SSID. Otherwise it can be a painful hassle finding it.

 THINGS YOU'LL NEED
  1. Wireless router
